UEF Denmark ceased to exist

UEF Denmark decided in its last assembly of 14th November 2009 to dissolve itself as an organisation.
Currently the members of the former UEF Denmark are studying the possibility to adhere to UEF supranational as individual members.

PAST EVENTS

The Reception “Goodbye Nice. Hello Lisbon”

On 1st of December, 2009 - the day that the Treaty of Lisbon came into force, Andrew Duff MEP (ALDE/UK) organised a reception in the Parliament for all MEPs and staff who have contributed to its drafting and ratification. The reception 'Goodbye Nice. Hello Lisbon' took place at the Altiero Spinelli Building.
Party group representatives and senior members of the Commission made short interventions. Speeches marking the start of the new parliamentary regime of the European Union, were given by Andrew Duff, Jo Leinen, newly appointed High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton, Rainer Wieland and Guy Verhofstadt. The event was a great success with more than 300 participants.

Christmas reception at UEF

On 10th of December, 2009 with opening speeches by UEF-President Andrew Duff MEP and the president of EUD-Brussels Dr. Michael Köhler the Union of European Federalists together with the Brussels chapter of its German section, the Europa-Union Deutschland brought together young Europeans in a pre-Christmas spirit. Event at UEF Secretariat gathered young stagiaires and professionals who were interested in meeting like-minded people from all over Europe. Sipping mulled wine, guests engaged in lovely conversations and tried out their luck or once again checked their knowledge about different Christmas and New Year traditions all over the Europe while enthusiastically filling out European Christmas quiz.

UEF Belgium event "Midi fédéraliste"

On Wednesday, 10th of February 2010 (12h45) UEF Belgium is organising a seminar “Midi fédéraliste: Que faire avec le traité de Lisbonne et comment aller plus loin? Quelles perspectives pour une Europe fédérale ?”, taking place at UEF Secretariat (Chaussée de Wavre 214 D).

JEF international seminar in Bratislava - call for participants

“Gende® €quality: Europe's quality?” is an international seminar organised by JEF-Europe and JEF-Slovakia in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia from 21 till 27 March 2010.

Federalist Intergroup meeting

Next Federalist Intergroup meeting will take place on 23rd of February from 18h30 to 20h in the European Parliament in Brussels (Rue Wiertz 60).

Public screening of "World Vote Now". Are you ready for global democracy?

Graham Watson MEP, Club of Rome EU Chapter and the Campaign for a UN Parliament will jointly host a public screening of the documentary "World Vote Now" on 23 February 2010 at the European Parliament in Brussels. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion on global democracy.

European Conference "European Citizens' Panel - New Democratic Toolbox for New Institutions"

On Friday, 26 February 2010 the European Conference in the scope of the project entitled: "European Citizens' Panel: New democratic toolbox for new institutions" will be held at European Economic and Social Committee.

CEUNPA meeting in Buenos Aires

This year's international CEUNPA (The Campaign for the Establishment of a United Nations Parliamentary Assembly) meeting will take place on 4 October 2010 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
CEUNPA is a global network of more than 150 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and 550 parliamentarians from around 120 countries devoted to establishing a United Nations Parliamentary Assembly.
