UEF FEDERAL COMMITTEE, 5 NOVEMBER 2016 | COLOGNE
This Federal Committee Meeting took place in Cologne, in the historical Town Hall, on Saturday, 5 November 2016. The meeting included joint sessions with the Young European Federalists (JEF) and a common dinner hosted by UEF on Saturday evening.
PUBLIC DEBATE
On Saturday morning, UEF organised an open public debate with representatives from German and European institutions under the title ‘Europe our future – How to relaunch the European political project’.
The Mayor of the City of Cologne, Mrs. Henriette Reker, made an introductory speech on the topic of the debate before the panel. The panel consisted of Werner HOYER (President of the European Investment Bank), Norbert RÖTTGEN (Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Bundestag) and both the Presidents of UEF, Elmar BROK, and JEF, Christopher GLÜCK. UEF and JEF members were joined by participants from Cologne and its region, summing up to more than 250 attendees. See the event in pictures.
