XX. UEF European of the UEF in Genova from 10 - 21 March, 2004
The XX European Congress of the Union of European Federalists took place in Genova, the Cultural Capital of Europe 2004, from 19 to 21 March 2004. About 250 participants, including members of UEF, guests, journalists and observers gathered in the beautiful Bristol Hotel, situated at the heart of historical centre of Genova, where the UEF delegates set the federalist strategy for the upcoming years. Jo LEINEN (MEP) has been re-elected for the post of UEF President. Philipp AGATHONOS and Sergio PISTONE have also been re-electes for the post of UEF Vice-President and Alojz PETERLE, former Member of the European Convention Praesidium, has been elected as the third Vice-President. Gerda de MUNCK has been elected as the UEF Treasurer.
We would like to thank first and foremost MFE Italy and MFE Genova for hosting the biggest UEF Congress ever. We also thank the guests, members of UEF and the observers for their active participation and commitment. Last but not least, we would like to thank all who contributed to the preparations of the Congress, devoting their time and energy to ensure that everything was organised smoothly and efficiently.
