FEDERALIST DEBATE & TRAINING WEEKEND 2015

14-15 March | MADRID

THE FUTURE OF EUROPE:
BETWEEN FEDERALISM AND THE NATION STATE

The Federalist Debate & Training Weekend is a yearly event for experienced and new activists and members of UEF and JEF who are interested in discussing federalism and current European political issues from a federalist perspective and to engage in a practical training on campaigning for a federal Europe.

The 2015 event was hosted in Madrid and had the pleasure of welcoming the three former Spanish presidents of the European Parliament for a public event in the Office of the European Parliament in Madrid. Mr. Enrique Barón Crespo, Mr. José María Gil Robles and Mr. Josep Borrell Fontelles discussed the “Challenges and Opportunities Towards a Federal Europe” as a roundtable discussion on the evening of Saturday 14 March.

Further panel discussions explored options and visions for the future of the European Union while hands-on workshops aimed to develop the practical skills to match the theoretical knowledge covered by the panel discussions.
