Joint UEF-JEF Summer reception 2018

29 August 2018, 18:30
Square de Meeûs 25, 1000 Brussels

The UEF-JEF Joint Summer Reception is an annual event that gathers a selected audience of Federalists and Federalists’ friends from the worlds of European politics, business and civil society. It is a perfect occasion to catch up with fellow federalists and exchange ideas about the ongoing challenges facing Europe.

The next Summer Reception will take place the 29th of August, during a crucial moment for the future of Europe after the Italian elections and in view of the upcoming 2019 European elections. UEF and JEF are honoured to welcome Mr Dimitris Avramopoulos, the European Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship, as this year's guest speaker.

The reception will begin at 18:30 and be hosted at the UEF Secretariat, Square de Meeûs 25, 1000 Brussels and - weather permitting - take place in the garden.

Registration is already closed.

Dimitris Avramopoulos is the European Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship since November 2014.

Before becoming European Commissioner, Mr. Avramopoulos was Minister of National Defence of Greece (two terms), Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Tourism Development, Minister of Health and Social Solidarity and Mayor of Athens (two terms).

He was elected Member of the Parliament several times with the “New Democracy” party (1993, 2004, 2007, 2009 and 2012).
