FEDERALIST DEBATE
19 September 2015 | Vilnius
A FEDERALIST AGENDA FOR EUROPE, THE BALTIC PERSPECTIVE:
Challenges and opportunities for European Security & Defence and Economic & Political Union
In partnership with UEF Lithuania the Union of European Federalists hosted an event in Vilnius bringing together MPs, MEPs, experts, NGO activists and Europeans from across the Baltic region to discuss the future of the EU from a Baltic perspective and to explore and debate federalist solutions to the challenges we face.
UEF Lithuania President Petras AUŠTREVIČIUS MEP welcomes a number of speakers to the Lithuanian Parliament, including European Commissioner Vytenis ANDRIUKAITIS, former Lithuanian Prime Minister Andrius KUBILIUS and UEF President and Chair of the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee Elmar BROK MEP.
The debate explored two major European issues: Security, particularly in light of the EU’s response to the situation in Ukraine and the economy with reference to the future of the Euro and the need for the completion of the Economic and Monetary Union with a true fiscal union.
