How does Europe tackle the challenges of Employment, Sustainable Development and Research?
On 7 September 2011, UEF Belgium organized a debate “How does Europe tackle the challenges of Employment, Sustainable Development and Research? ” that took place at the Maison de l'Europe in the city of Luxembourg.

It was organized in a partnership with UEF Luxembourg, UEF Groupe-Europe, European Movement Luxembourg, European Youth Luxembourg, the EP Information office in Luxembourg and the EC representation office in Luxembourg.

The event was introduced by Alain CALMES, Secretary general of UEF Luxembourg and Mr. Bingen, Director of the EC representation office in Luxembourg.

The topic was introduced by Jacques Santer, former President of the European Commission, Rémy Jacob, Director general at the European Investment Bank, Simone Beissel, Vice-president of the Committee of the Regions of Europe and Frank Engel, member of the European Parliament. 45 participants, mainly representatives of civil society organizations and local representatives, attended the seminar and participated in the debate.

The debate was organized in the framework of the project “MIDIS EUROPEENS: EUROPEAN CHALLENGES AND CITIZENSHIP” supported by the European Commission Program “Europe for the Citizens”.
