European Citizens' Forum "Shaping more Europe together. For more democracy, dialogue and discussion"
Europa-Union Deutschland (EUD), together with its local section in Cologne, the International Centre of European Training (CIFE) and the UEF supranational organised the first “European Citizens’ Forum” on 20 May in Cologne. Entitled “Shaping more Europe together: For more Democracy, Dialogue and Discussion”, the forum aimed at involving the citizens’ of the Cologne area in the discussion about European processes, particularly in view of the German EU Presidency at the beginning of 2007.

Speakers of the panel discussion included Elmar BROK, President of Europe-Union Germany and Member of the European Parliament, Friedhelm FRISCHENSCHLAGER, Secretary-General of the UEF, Barbara GESSLER, Director of the regional representation of the European Commission in Bonn, Axel SCHÄFER, Member of the German Bundestag and Vice-President of the European Movement Germany, as well as Kristina HONDRILA, Manager at Euractiv.de.

The discussion was moderated by Franz Josef Klein, member of the Europa-Union Deutschland & Director of the representation Director of the Representation of Hamburg in Berlin.
